The circumstances and purposes of the data processing may change. Should your rights or freedoms be affected in such cases, we will inform you about the adjustment of our privacy policy in good time and detail.

III. Data processing

a) Location Permission Autorization
Starting with Android 6.0 applications requires "fine location" permission in order to scan/use Bluetooth LE devices. Bluetooth beacons, like iBeacons, Altbeacons or Eddystone beacons, may be used to determine the phone's and user's location.

This app needs fine location permission so that it can:
- receive the temperature data as sent by the SQI-TM1 dual input PT100 temperature indicator.

When the app is opened and placed in background the location usage will be in background, thus ensuring the temperature data could be logged without intrerupts in the chart when the chart is in record mode.

The feature used by location while app is in background is only that of receiving the SQI-TM1 data and only store the temperature data if the chart is in record mode.

This application is not using or accessing your Phone's GPS module.

If you choose to deny this Permission the app will Not use this feature, therefore the app functionality will be limited, like temperature chart could not be recorded. If you later choose to allow this permission: Locate this app in Phone Settings/Apps and tap on the app icon. A screen will pop up. Scroll down until you find Permissions and tap it. You will find the Location permission toggle. Tap it so it's 'On'

b) Using Firebase technology
Our app use Google’s "Firebase" technology (Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, “Google”). Firebase is part of Google Cloud Platform and offers many services to developers. A list can be found here: https://firebase.google.com/terms/ .

Firebase uses technologies that facilitate the use of our apps or enable an analysis of your use of our apps, e.g. through push notifications or error logs. The purpose of using Firebase is to analyze the use and performance of our apps, and to improve them regularly.

Here you will find the Firebase technologies we use:

• FCM - Cloud Messaging
With the help of FCM cloud messaging, users are notified via the different platforms (iOS / Android). These so-called push notifications are automatically displayed by the app on the user's device and inform the user, i.e. about news, upcoming application updates, messages or comments.

• Crashlytics
Apps can crash or not load properly ("crash"). We use Crashlytics to identify such app crashes. So-called crash protocols with identifiers are processed for such evaluation. In the event of a crash, anonymous information is collected and transmitted (state of the app at the time of the crash, installation UUID, crash trace, manufacturer and operating system of the cell phone, last log messages). This information does not contain any personal data.
This data is encrypted both for transmission and in idle state during storage and automatically deleted after 90 days.

• Analytics
Firebase Analytics helps us measure app usage and user engagement. This is how data is collected to determine how the users of the apps behave, i.e. what they click on and which pages have the most activities. Here, too, the analysis data must be able to be assigned to a meaningful evaluation of an ID, whereby it should be noted that the information content varies from device to device and also depends on its software environment (Android devices that receive their apps via the Google Play Store send more Information than iOS devices). However, persons cannot be identified through such assignments.

Crashlytics and Analytics can be opted out on first application run, before any use of them. To do this, select the proper options you want in the Consent dialog shown when app starts up for the first time. Wheter you would like to enable these analytics later you could do so in the phone app Settings menu.

In addition to the “Instance ID” described above, Google also uses the advertising ID of the device for Firebase Analytics. In the device settings of your mobile device you can restrict the use of the advertising ID.

For Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID

For iOS: Settings > Privacy > Advertising > No Ad Tracking

We do not use Firebase services that use personally identifiable information, such as IP addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers or passwords.

For more information about Firebase’s privacy and security, please visit https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy/ . If possible, we use servers with a location within the EU. However, it can not be ruled out that data may also be transferred to the USA. Google has joined the EU-US Privacy Shield, a data protection agreement between the EU and the US. The legal basis for data processing with Google Firebase is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 f) GDPR, since we have a legitimate interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our apps and data processing is necessary to safeguard this interest.
